Born in Arizona in 1968, my family moved to Portales in 1974, and I’ve been there ever since. I love the area, and the people here in Eastern New Mexico/West Texas are the greatest on Earth. I’m a single mom of three, but only one still actually lives at home. The older son and daughter are grown and gone, embarking on lives of their own, while my teenage daughter attends Portales High School. For the past two years, I’ve been blessed to be dating a very wonderful man named Wayne, with whom I’m having the time of my life! We enjoy traveling together, or just hanging out with friends & family on weekends, cooking food on the grill and watching UFC/Football/Nascar on TV. I’m also an avid hot rod junkie, and a former Street Class racer at Lubbock Dragway, where I earned a top five position in points in 2007.
I got my start in radio in 1988 at KRMQ’s sister station, KSEL, when it was less than a month old here on the High Plains. At the time, it was owned and operated by Jim and Mona Boles, and they were in dire need of a weekend disk jockey. So, direly in need, in fact, that they were willing to hire me even though I had never set foot inside a radio station even once in my entire life. They sat me down in front of the board, trained me, and essentially gave me one of the greatest gifts of my whole life. My radio career has been nothing but great times, and amazing experiences, and I’m beyond thrilled to be here now with Rooney Moon Broadcasting doing the morning show on my favorite local station.

Do you have any pets?
I HAVE 2 INDOOR CATS...FEMALES NAMED JOEY & CHANDLER, AND ONE BIG YELLOW OUTSIDE CAT THAT WE JUST CALL BIG YELLOW KITTY. I RECENTLY LOST MY DOG, REX...HE WAS A 13 ½ YEAR OLD RED HEELER THAT I LOVED DEARLY. I HAD HIM CREAMATED AND HAVE HIS ASHES ON THE MANTLE OVER MY FIREPLACE.
What did you plan to be when you grew up?
A TRUCKER LIKE MY FATHER. MY FATHER, HOWEVER, QUICKLY DECIDED THAT WASN’T GOING TO HAPPEN.

NO
Ever been scuba diving? sky diving? dumpster diving?
SCUBA...NO. SKYDIVING...YES. DUMPSTER DIVING...ONLY ONCE WHEN MY CAT WAS IN IT.

I PROBABLY HAVE THE MOST DIVERSE CD COLLECTION IN THE WORLD. I HAVE EVERYTHING FROM HANK WILLIAMS SR & PATSY CLINE, TO METALLICA & ANTHRAX. THE MOST SHOCKING THING IN MY CD COLLECTION...OLD BRADY BUNCH TUNES. (Wow, THAT was a painful confession!)

I ACTUALLY JUST DID VISIT WITH HIM RECENTLY...HE’S A MAN NAMED ED BURROW AND HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A 2ND FATHER TO ME. LOVE HIM TO DEATH!

REBA MCENTIRE, LUBBOCK, FEB 1992. SHE HAD AARON TIPPIN AND CHARLIE DANIELS OPENING...ALL THREE ACTS WERE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.
